Leadership
Grace Bible Church is committed to biblical eldership as the model for church leadership. We recognize these men are appointed by the Holy Spirit (Acts 20:28), but the Spirit uses the Word (e.g. 1 Tim 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9) and the church to affirm this role. The elders are responsible for the spiritual care of the flock entrusted to them (Heb 13:17) and as such will prioritize their time in prayer and the ministry of the Word (Acts 6:4). The task of shepherding is one of service as they set an example for others (1 Pet 5:1-4). In recognition of this unique role and while we are still in the early stages of a church plant, a plurality of elders has not been established and we are thankful for the wisdom and input from Grace Advance (a ministry of Grace Community Church, LA) and other local pastors and churches.
It is our desire, in the future, to recognize and affirm other men from within our congregation who are also qualified and set apart for this leadership responsibility.
Tim Wilson
Pastor
Biography
Born and raised in Australia, Tim grew up attending church each week. By the grace of God, under the conviction of his sin and recognition of the need for forgiveness, Tim accepted Christ as his Savior when he was about 12.
After graduating from university, Tim attended a short-term training ministry and was deeply impacted in his relationship with the Lord during this time. He ended up serving full time in this ministry for 5 years, meeting his wife at this time also.
Following his service with this ministry and now with two young children, Tim and his wife moved to Canada for about 5 years. However, the desire for ministry remained strong and after being exposed to expository preaching, he knew the next course for his family was seminary.
In early 2017, Tim and his family moved to Los Angeles to complete his Master of Divinity at The Master’s Seminary (TMS). The season at TMS was an incredible opportunity of teaching and fellowship for his whole family, in preparation for the ministry God had called him in the future.
In 2022, he accepted the call to pastor Grace Bible Church. This opportunity presented an exciting venture, surrounded by loving and like-minded believers, as he strive to faithfully obey our Lord’s commission to “make disciples of all nations.”
